Acer Aspire 1551 Netbook: Now Available in the US

Acer is currently shipping its Aspire 1551 netbook in the US. The thin and light netbook features 11.6-inch display which is larger than typical netbooks. The netbook offers some other features which are not available in typical netbooks.

The netbook features AMD Turion II Neo K625 processor with a bus speed of 1.5GHz. It also provides 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 320GB storage. Some other features that the netbook is offering include 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi for networking, ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics, HDMI port, multi-card reader and 3 USB 2.0 ports.

Acer Aspire 1551 also comes with an integrated 1.3 mega-pixel webcam and runs Windows 7 (64-bit) operating system. Coming with a 6-cell battery, the netbook provides 5-hour of back up which is not impressive compared to the battery life of an average netbook. It is now available in the US market with a price tag of $550.

The price is pretty much high for a netbook. It is understandable that its 4GB DDR3 Ram is perhaps the reason behind its high price. There are many who may like to have DDR3 memory, but the battery life should have been longer so that users can work for longer time while traveling.
