James Milner Could Join Manchester City

Versatile English midfielder James Milner is believed to have found Manchester City offer too lucrative to reject and could move to Eastland this summer. Reports out in the media suggest that Milner is planning to make a written request to Aston Villa to let him move to Manchester City.

Manchester City is ready to splash £28 million in cash for the England international who is now in South Africa with England’s World Cup squad. Aston Villa is understood to be disappointed at such request as they have no intention to lose their most prized asset.

James Milner is a highly talented player who can play as a winger as well as a central or left-sided midfielder. His excellent performance was instrumental in Aston Villa’s race to clinch a top four finish, and thus, a Champions League spot. At last, Villa finished 6th in the point table, 6 points behind the fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

James Milner has showed his excellent form in England’s recent 1-0 victory over Slovenia in the World Cup and there are some other clubs who are also interested to secure his service.

However, Manchester City is believed to be in pole position in the race and it seems the club has offered Milner a very lucrative weekly wage that would be hard for the player to resist.
