Lionel Messi Happy with His Performance for Argentina

Argentina star Lionel Messi has revealed that his performance against Nigeria in their opening match in FIFA World Cup 2010 was his best for Argentina. The Barcelona striker is pretty much delighted with the way he performed in the match.

Argentina got off to a good start in their World Cup campaign as they defeated Nigeria 1-0. The winning margin could have been bigger if Nigeria goalkeeper had not made some brilliant saves.

Lionel Messi said to the media, “It was a great match for me because I played well and most importantly the team won. The qualifying campaign wasn’t a successful one for neither Argentina nor me. But I am over it and extremely delighted with my start at the World Cup.

I have never played better football for Argentina and it was my best match for the country. This has to be the happiest moment of my life. Hopefully we will be able to go a long way in the tournament.”

Messi created a number of scoring opportunities and came very close to scoring on a number of occasions. He is currently World’s best footballer and Argentine fans are expecting a lot from him.

Messi’s performance for Argentina in the World Cup qualifying came under huge criticism as he failed to transform his superb club form into international stage. However, this time it seems he has got back his rhythm for Argentina.
