Loop Mobile and SMS GupShup, jointly launched a new SMS service in India
Loop Mobile said that the new service is similar to the “CC” option of email services that enables the sender to send email to a large number of people at the same time.
Under this new service, any subscriber of Loop Mobile Services can create a group. Each “Group” can have up to seven members including the initiator of the group. The“Group” would then get a dedicated short code by SMS Gupshup.
Any time, any member of the group would be able to send SMS to this short code and all the members would receive the message at the same time. If any other member of the group sends a reply, then it would also be received by all the members at the same time.
Another great feature of the “Reply To All SMS” service is that Loop Mobile subscribers can also invite friends to the group who subscribe to other operators.
For each message to the short code, subscribers will be charged Rs.0.50
The “Reply To All SMS” service would work on every handsets and network carriers and does not involve any software download, installation or data connectivity.
The “Reply To All SMS” service is currently being offered free to all Loop Mobile users and this would continue till June 30, 2010. Afterwards, users will be charged Rs.0.50 for every message sent to the group.
