Manchester City Signed David Silva: Will it be a Success Story?

After all the speculations and rumors in the English and Spanish media, David Silva has finally joined Premier League club Manchester City for four years. Though he would finally put pen on paper following a medical test after the World Cup, both the player and the club have ensured the completion of the £24million move.

Now, the question is if David Silva would be able to write some of the success stories for City in his tenure. After the completion of the deal, Silva said he would like to win titles for City, but only time can say if he would be able to keep his promise.

Well, it seems there is fifty-fifty possibility if Silva could make as much impact at Manchester City as he could at Valencia. There is no doubt, the 24-year-old is currently one of the best midfielders in the world.

However, the problem is that David Silva has spent his last 6 years playing for Valencia in Spanish league. So, it is natural that he has got Spanish flavor in his style of football and it could be difficult for him to be accustomed to England’s physically demanding football.

More than that, he has to play with City’s two main strikers Emmanuel Adebayor and Carlos Tevez, neither of whom has previous experience of playing for any Spanish clubs. So, as a winger he has to adjust with Tevez and Adebayor. The only good thing is that Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure is all set to join City very soon and Silva could make a good partnership with Yaya at City’s midfield.

Overall, it seems Manchester City fans must wait to see if David Silva can really shine at Eastlands.
