Inter Milan Valuated Mario Balotelli at €40m

Inter Milan put a staggering €40 million price tag on its 19-year-old striker Mario Balotelli. The highly rated Italian striker has already attracted a number of European clubs. However, now it seems Arsenal and Manchester City are ahead in the race of securing the teen’s service.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is believed to have impressed by Balotelli’s performance for the European champions over the last few years. Since joining Inter Milan in 2007, Mario Balotelli has represented Inter in 59 Serie A matches and found the net on 20 occasions. He has also played 16 matches for Italy U-21 and scored 6 goals.

Seeing offers coming in a flurry for the young prodigy, Inter Milan President Massimo Moratti has recently said that any suitor can sign Balotelli by paying €40 million. Such overpricing of the player could have two meanings: either the club has no intention to sell the player considering his huge potential, or the Italian giants are trying to increase the player’s price in the market by inviting some other clubs.

Whatever the reason is, it seems less likely that even a big spending club like Manchester City would like to spend €40 million (around £33 million) for Mario Balotelli.
