Manchester United will not Sign Joe Cole

It seems a twist has come in Joe Cole’s club future as Manchester United has made it clear that they would not sign him. Joe Cole has been released by Chelsea after the end of the last season and he is now in search of a new club as a free agent.

Since his release by Chelsea, the 28-year-old has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs, most notably with Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp even recently indicated that Manchester United had already secured his service through a secret deal.

However, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has now revealed that he has no plan to land the player in Old Trafford, mainly because of a wage demand of over £100,000 a week. This is perhaps another reason Arsenal may back out from their stance for the player as Arsene Wenger is less likely to break his wage structure.

More importantly, Joe Cole could not yet retain his best form after coming back from injury. So, it appears Manchester United is doubtful whether Joe Cole would be bankable enough to invest on. Now, it looks Tottenham or Arsenal could be Joe Cole’s possible destination, with Manchester United not keen to sign him anymore.
