Manisha Koirala marriage with Nepalese businessman Samrat Dahal

Popular Bollywood actress, Manisha Koirala, finally got married to a Nepalese businessman named Samrat Dahal. The marriage ceremony took place on June 18, 2010 at the Gokarna Forest Resort, ten kilometers from Kathmandu.

Though the Koiralas are a prominent political family in Nepal, aside from President of Nepal, Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal no other political personalities were invited to the wedding ceremony.

It was a low-key family affair which was attended by family members and close friends. The bride and groom wore traditional dresses and exchanged rings amidst the chanting of mantras.

Among Bollywood personalities, actor Suman Ranganathan, Govinda’s wife, Sunitha and Vivek Mushran attended the wedding and blessed the couple. Delicious Indian and Nepalese cuisines were served to the guests.

The wedding will continue for three days, culminating on Saturday which is the most important day. On that day, Manisha Koirala’s family will have a big reception at the Hotel Saltee Crown Plaza which will be attended by three thousand guests.

Samrat Dahal and Manisha Koirala first met on Facebook. Thirty four year old, Dahal has a Master’s Degreee in Alternative Energy from the US and runs his family business in Nepal. Manisha Koirala is currently forty one year old. Despite this huge age gap, they were attracted to each other.
