Nokia unveils X5 and X6 8GB in Singapore

Nokia, the Finland based mobile phone producer, unveiled a new range of mobile phones at its Nokia Connection event in Singapore.

The number one mobile handset producer in the world unveiled two new handsets in its X series smartphone category.

The Nokia X5-01 comes with MiniDisc player and a full QWERTY keyboard so that you can easily send text messages to your friends. The phone also supports social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Hi5. It has a 5 mega pixel camera with LED flash and 4X digital zoom.

Other features include-200MB internal memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD. It comes with a 2G microSD card. The battery has 16-day standby time or 24 hours music playback. The phone is priced at Euro 165 (around Rs.9500). Users can also change music tracks by turning around the phone. Users in selected regions can access Nokia’s ‘Ovi Music’ and ‘Comes with music.’ The phone will be launched in Indonesia in the third quarter.

The Nokia X6 8GB is the newest member of the X6 series. Already there are Nokia X6 16 GB and Nokia X6 32GB. The new X6 has an 8GB internal memory. Users can listen to non-stop 35 hours of music in one full charge. It has built-in stereo speakers.


The phone measures 111 mm x 51 mm x 13.8 mm and weighs 122 g. It has a 3.2 inch capacitive touch screen with a 640 X 360 resolution and has up to 16.7 million colors. It has a 5 mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optic lens, 4X digital zoom, auto focus and dual LED flash. This phone will be launched in the third quarter and would cost Euro 225 (Rs 12,790),

Nokia also launched N8, the first mobile phone that runs on Nokia’s Symbian 3 OS. It also unveiled two new low cost, low memory phones which fall in a price range of Euro 35-39 (Rs.1998-Rs 2,215).
