Suzuki Motor Corp. unveiled its newly designed Swift

Japanese automaker, Suzuki, unveiled its newly upgraded Maruti Suzuki Swift at Esztergom in Hungary. Osamu Suzuki, Suzuki Motor Corp. Chairman and CEO, Suzuki Motor Corp. unveiled the car along with Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban.

The company also posted pictures of the upgraded car in its official website.

Suzuki Motor launched the Swift back in 2004 as its strategic global model in Japan, Europe, China, and India. The car own many prestigious awards for its design and performance and became very much popular.

The new Suzuki Swift will be a hatchback car with a complete make over. The new Suzuki Swift hatchback is larger but lighter than its predecessor. It measures 12.6 feet X 5.5 feet X 5.0 feet. The new version is 9 cm lengthier and has a more roundish look. The wheel base of the new Suzuki Swift has been increased by 5 cms. The new car has large wheels and lower profile tyres to ensure better performance.

The new version is lighter than its predecessor. The lightweight has been achieved by the use of higher tensile still which also ensures better safety for the passenger.

The current version of Suzuki Swift is available with 1.3 liter engine. The new Suzuki Swift sports a 1.2 litre Dual VVT petrol engine capable of producing 94 PS (69KW) of power and 118 NM of torque. There will be another 1.3 liter diesel engine version that will be launched in the U.K. in 2011 and it will have a fuel efficiency of 4.2 liters per 100 km against 5 liters per 100 km in the petrol version.

The new Suzuki Swift has better fuel efficiency, upgraded engine and safety features. It also has a spacious and stylish interior, more improved than its predecessor. The new Suzuki has extended headlights, revamped taillights and alloy wheels and uniquely positioned license plate.

The upgraded Suzuki Swift has better handling. Safety features include “leg-injury-mitigating brake,” clutch pedals, front and curtain airbags.

Comfort features include keyless start, collapsible steering column. The new Swift has been designed to meet the Euro 5 emission standards. The car will be available in 4 or 5 door variants.

Initially, the car will be released in the UK and in other developing countries like India where the car is very popular.
