Toshiba launched the Portégé R700 to celebrate its 25th anniversary of the introduction of the world’s first commercial laptop by the company in 1985.
The Portégé R700 measures 12.44 inches x 8.94 inches x 1.01 inches and weighs just 3 lbs. It has magnesium alloy body. The honeycomb structure in the palm rest area protects the electronic components and ensures longevity.
The Portégé R700 comes in Intel Core i3 and Intel Core i5 processor which can be further upgraded to Intel Core i7. The laptop comes with 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM. There is also a built-in 7mm thick DVD burner.
The Portégé R700 packs a 13.3 inch backlit display with 1366x768-resolution. There are two storage options- 500 GB HDD or third-generation 256 GB SSD.
Input-Output ports include full docking capabilities, two USB 2.0 Sleep-and-Charge ports, one USB port doubling up as an eSATA/USB 2.0 port, VGA, HDMI port, one SD slot, headphone and microphone ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, SD card slot, and optional ExpressCard slot.
There are two battery options- 6-cell li-ion/9-cell li-ion. The 6-cell battery provides 8 hour back up while the 9-cell 12 hours.
The Portégé R700 comes with 64-bit version of Windows 7. The price range from Rs 65,000-75,000. It will come with standard three-year warranty.
