Valencia Keen to Involve Roque Santa Cruz in £29m David Silva Deal

Manchester City is highly interested to sign Valencia winger David Silva and it is believed that both clubs have agreed on a £29m transfer fee for the Spanish international. However, the cash-trapped Valencia now looks to involve Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz in Silva deal worth £29 million, and thus, making it a part swap part cash deal. However, Manchester City has not revealed anything regarding Valencia’s desire to secure Santa Cruz’s service.

It is pretty much understandable that Valencia would now like to sign a quality striker who can fill in the gap left by David Villa who has recently signed for Barcelona. Villa and Silva were the main force in Valencia’s attacking line up over the last few seasons. Now, in their absence Valencia wants to get someone who can at least add some firepower in their attack. Former Blackburn Rovers player Roque Santa Cruz fits the bill very well for Valencia.

Santa Cruz had two excellent seasons with Blackburn before moving to Manchester City last summer for a £17.5 million transfer fee. However, the Paraguay international could not live up to the expectation at Eastlands as he found the net only 3 times in his 19 league appearances. So, there is a possibility City may let him go to Valencia.

David Silva has been in excellent form with the Spanish club over the last few years and it is no surprise that City would like to play him alongside Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is also heavily linked with a move to City.

Though it seems City and Valencia are very close to complete the Silva deal, there is every possibility Chelsea could give another shot at getting Silva out of City’s grasp.
