The WBSCHSE was established by the government of West Bengal under West Bengal Council of Higher Educaiton Act 1975. It mainly looks after the 10+2 education system. The council has its main office at Salt Lake, Bidhannagar, Korunamoyee, Kolkata along with four regional offices.
West Bengal has a glorious past in India as far as education is concerned. Calcutta University is one of the earliest educational institutions not only in India but also in whole Asia. The City of Kolkata still has many important colleges and Universities for higher education. West Bengal is not a rich state and that is why education is very important for young people.
Good performance in exam results is always important for future career. The province has given birth to many famous people. Also the City of Kolkata was the place of several noble laureates.
In the recent years, West Bengal government has been trying very hard to make the province an outsourcing hub in Eastern part of India. Many big technology companies have opened their offices and many jobs have been created in the outsourcing field in the last few years.
