Wolverhampton Wants Michael Mancienne on Loan Again

Mick McCarthy, the manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers, now reportedly wants Chelsea’s 22-year-old defender Michael Mancienne on loan for another season. Mancienne impressed Wolves manager in his 33 appearances for Wolverhampton last season and helped the club to finish well above the relegation zone.

However, Chelsea has not revealed anything on the future of Michael Mancienne. So, it is not yet sure if the player would be allowed to play for Wolverhampton Wanderers for another season. There is a possibility Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti would like to keep the central defender at Stamford Bridge next season considering Mancienne’s recent form and Chelsea’s ageing center backs Ricardo Carvalho and John Terry.

It is true that Mancienne may not be able to win regular football at Chelsea yet, but the Blues may want to give him some substitute appearances and start in FA Cup and League cup so that they can become matured and gradually replace Terry and Carvalho.

Ancelotti must worry about the average age of Chelsea squad. Most worrying fact is that Chelsea youth side did not provide any quality player over the last one decade. Terry was the last player came through Chelsea’s youth side.

It seems that Chelsea would like Michael Mancienne to stay with the club, in stead of going anywhere else on loan. The player has already represented England at U-21 level.
