Arsenal Linked with Serdar Tasci of Stuttgart

Arsenal is now tracking Stuttgart center back Serdar Tasci and reports out in the media suggest that the Gunners have already started talking to the officials of the German club over a possible deal for the 23-year-old German international. Arsenal would have to reportedly cost £10million for the Tasci who has also been a target of Arsenal’s same city rival Tottenham Hotspur.

While the arrival of Laurent Koscielny from French club Lorient is now just a matter of time, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is now keen to bring in another central defender to strengthen his defense.

Serdar Tasci came through Stuttgart youth side and started playing for Stuttgart senior side since 2006. Over the last four seasons, Tasci represented the Bundesliga club in 101 league matches.

With 6 feet 1 inch height, Tasci has aerial advantage too. Besides the central role, he is also capable of playing as a right back. He represented Germany in 12 international matches so far and is currently in South Africa on international duty with Germany World Cup squad.

With the likes of William Gallas, Mikael Silvestre almost leaving, Wenger has been in search of their replacements ahead of the next season. Now, if the Serdar Tasci deal is done, Wenger would have three young but quality center back options in Thomas Vermaelen, Koscielny and Tasci.

Moreover, Sol Campbell has not decided on his future yet, but if he decides to stay at the North London club, Arsenal central defense could be one of the best in Premier League.
