Fiat Grande Punto with 1.3 litre Multijet engine launched in India

The Fiat Grande Punto came to India in the middle of 2009. It went on to become one of the top selling models of the company. Earlier this year, at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010, Fiat unveiled Fiat Grande Punto with 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine.

On July 19, 2010, the company launched the new diesel variant of the car in Delhi. It is priced at Rs.6.79 lakh.

The over all length of the new Fiat Grande Punto is 3987 mm, width 1687 mm and height 1495 mm. It has a wheelbase of 2,510 mm. The new model has a kerb weight of 1190 kg. It has a ground clearance of 171 mm. The boot capacity is 280 litre and fuel tank 45 litre.

The new Multijet diesel engine has a capacity 90 HP. The Variable Geometry Turbo engine offers high power and fuel efficiency.

Other features include Dual Airbags, ABS with EBD, Blue & Me technology, Alloy wheels with the wider tyres, Automatic Climate Control, Integrated CD/MP3 player with USB, Chrome plated door handles and sporty red stitching seats.

The customers of the new Fiat Grande Punto will be offered a “special accessory pack” from which they can chose from according to their needs. The “special accessory pack” includes a rear spoiler, chrome exhaust tip, stylish body decals, sporty aluminium pedals, leather seat covers and Punto branded door sill.

The new Fiat Grande Punto will become available in five different colors including- Bossa Nova White, Exotica Red, Medium Grey, Fox Trot Azure and Tuscan Wine.

The new Fiat will be sold all over the country through 175 Tata-Fiat dealers across 130 cities. Booking will start from July 18, 2010.
