Gerard Pique: Cesc Fabregas Desperate to Join Barcelona

Spain international and Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has recently revealed that Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is desperate to join Barcelona ahead of the next season. He has also said that Fabregas is now more interested than anytime before to move to his childhood club in Spain.

Pique said to the media, “I have known that Cesc wanted to join Barcelona for many years - but now it is more than about wanting to do it. Now it is something he feels he must do.

The World Cup has not been a good thing for Arsenal. It has meant that he has been spending every day with myself, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Victor Valdes - and he has made his feelings very clear to us.”

Cesc Fabregas joined Arsenal from Barcelona youth side in 2003. The creative midfielder has grown into one of the best midfielders in the world over the last 7 years under the guidance of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

Barcelona has been trying to secure the service of their former student over the last couple of seasons. At the end of the last season, Fabregas also revealed his desire to move to the Catalan side. The Spanish giants have already had a £30 million bid rejected by Arsenal who has valuated the player in the region of £50- £60 million.

The Fabregas saga took a new turn recently when Fabregas surprisingly announced that he had never revealed any desire of joining Barcelona.

So, it seems that the future of Cesc Fabregas is still hanging in the balance and rumors and speculations over his possible move to Barcelona would continue coming in a flurry during the summer transfer window unless Fabregas takes the final decision on his club future.
