Honda launched VFR-1200F in India

On July 30, 2010, Honda launched its new super bike VFR-1200F in New Delhi. The bike comes with a price tag of Rs.17.5 lakh. This is the third super bike offering from Honda after CB1000R and CBR1000RR Fireblade. The new bike will become available in the market after August 16, 2010.

The VFR-1200F is a very well designed bike and would definitely turn around people’s head. However, it is not just the design that makes the bike stands out from the crowd, the bike packs a powerful 1237cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, V4 engine. The new engine is compact than 781cc engine. It has a maximum capacity of 172 bhp and a torque of 129Nm @ 8,750 rpm. This means, the new Honda VFR-1200F is a great combination and power and sporty design.

The VFR-1200F measures 2250mm x755mm x1220mm with a wheelbase of 1,545mm and ground clearance of 125mm. The bike has a kerb weight of 267 kg. Its fuel tank capacity is 18.5 litre. It has a fuel-efficiency of 15.9 km/litre. The bike also has a fuel-efficient mode called D-mode.

Instead of conventional chain drive, the bike features a newly improved shaft drive system. Just like a car, the engine power is transferred to rear wheels via an output shaft placed below the transmission countershaft.

For safety, the bike comes with both dual combined braking system and anti-lock brakes (ABS).
