Mario Balotelli: Where is He Going?

The 19-year-old Inter Milan prodigy, Mario Balotelli, has been heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan where he started his professional career in 2007. The highly rated Italian striker has already proven his skill and talent over the last couple of seasons, scoring 20 goals in 59 Serie A matches.

Besides City, the Italy U-21 international has also attracted interest from Manchester United and Arsenal. Few reports even linked him with Real Madrid too. Though he is a fan of AC Milan, it is now most likely that Balotelli could move to Premier League next season.

Inter Milan has valuated Mario Balotelli at £30 million and is ready to let the player move if any of his interested suitors comes up with a right offer.

Arsenal earlier revealed their interest in the striker, but manager Arsene Wenger is currently eyeing on German attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil who could replace Cesc Fabregas who has now been linked with a move to Barcelona. Moreover, considering Inter’s asking price for the player, it seems less likely that Wenger would still be interested to move for Mario Balotelli.

Manchester United is also eyeing on Balotelli. Moreover, it seems manager Sir Alex Ferguson would now be more desperate to sign the Italian as he failed to lure Wesley Sneijder out of Inter Milan. In fact, the Red Devils boss could offload the players like Dimitar Berbatov and Anderson to arrange necessary fund for the Mario Balotelli deal.

However, Manchester City seems to be in pole position to secure Balotelli’s service. Manager Roberto Mancini has recently admitted that he is tracking Balotelli as well as Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko. He has also indicated that he would go for Balotelli, despite the £30 million valuation of the player by Inter Milan.

Overall, it seems more likely that Mario Balotelli would join Manchester City as United is less likely to be able to compete with their big-spending same city rivals.
