Sony PS3 Slim classic white will be launched in Japan on July 29th

Sony finally confirmed that it is going to launch its new PS3 Slim classic white model on July 29, 2010. Initially, it will be released in Japan.

The Sony Playsation 3 Slim was launched in September 2009. The new Sony PS3 Slim classic white model aka “CECH-2500” will have increased storage capacity. The existing PS3 Slim consoles have 120GB to 250GB storage capacity. The new PS3 Slim classic model will be available in 160GB to 320GB. This means user would be able to store demos, updates, music, photos, game saves and other contents.

The new console will support video games and Blu-Ray players at the same time. The Sony PS3 Slim Classic white 160 GB model would cost ¥ 29,980 or €272 while the 320GB version would cost ¥ 34,980 or €316. The 320 GB model will not be released in white color.

The PS3 Slim classic white will match Dual Shock 3S priced at ¥5,500 and console stands priced at ¥2,000.

The PS3 Slim classic white model will have Cell Broadband Engine and RSX GPU. It supports a wide range of audio files including LPCM 7.1ch, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS-HD, and AAC.

Memory will be available in either 256MB XDR Main RAM or 256MB GDDR3 VRAM.

The device has two USB 2.0 ports, 1 Ethernet port (10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T), IEEE 802.11 b / g and Bluetooth 2.0 (EDR).

The launch of the PS3 Slim classic white in the U.S and Europe has not been announced yet.
