West Ham United Close to Pablo Barrera Signing for £4m

Premier League club West Ham United is very close to complete the signing of Mexican midfielder Pablo Barrera for a reported transfer fee of £4 million. The player is currently playing for Mexican club UNAM Pumas.

The Mexico international has recently represented his country in the World Cup 2010 where he played 3 matches. The 23-year-old winger is considered as one of the future stars of Mexico, though he is relatively unknown outside Mexico.

Pablo Barrera has recently been granted a work permit. So, he is now very close to put pen on paper. The Mexican has already impressed playing for UNAM Pumas. He played 85 matches for Pumas and scored 18 goals in the Mexican league.

It is definitely a very good move for West Ham. In Barrera, West Ham would find a quality young player who can serve for many years and would not cost the cash-trapped club a big amount. West Ham United is now under huge debt.

On the other hand, joining West Ham United could be a stepping stone for Pablo Barrera. Just two highly successful seasons with West Ham could earn the Mexico international offers from bigger clubs.

So, the transfer of Pablo Barrera to West Ham United seems to be a win-win situation for both parties.
