Sonam Kapoor starrer Aisha would showcase top International Fashion brands

In her upcoming movie, Aisha, Sonam Kapoor plays the role of a fashionable girl and to dress her up, producers of the movie -Anil Kapoor Films Co. Pvt. Ltd., and PVR Pictures signed a deal with top International brands like Salvatore Ferragamo and Christian Dior. Normally, these brands do not feature their products in Bollywood movies.

Since Aisha played by Sonam Kapoor and her close friend are fashion conscious, it is natural that fashion would be an integral part of the movie. What is interesting about this whole deal is that for the first time any Hindi movie would showcase high-end fashion instead of mass market products.

According to One India, other major fashion brands who would showcase their products in the movie are- DLF Emporio, Portico and L’Oreal Paris. Portico and L’Oreal Paris are going to promote their brands with TV commercials showcasing various scenes from Aisha.

Sonam Kapoor’s younger sister, Rhea Kapoor, who is producing the movie, said, “We shot the film in 67 days but six months time period is spent before the shooting to tie up with the renowned brands. These tie-ups are done during and before the scripting stage”

Kalyani Chawla, Vice President, Christian Dior said that the movie will use 60 Dior dresses and accessories that will be put on Sonam Kapoor and other actors in the movie. On the other hand, Pallavi Tibrewal, Vice-President, Marketing, Portico, said that they would introduce 10-12 designs during the launch of the movie.

Aisha which would release on August 6, 2010 will star Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in the female and male lead. In the movie, Sonam Kapoor will be seen carrying a Lady Dior purse and Abhay Deol would don suits from Dior.

Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol’s Aisha is coming to theatres in August

Anil Kapoor’s daughter, Sonam Kapoor is now busy shooting movies. Already, her movie with Imran Khan, I Hate Luv Storys is scheduled to hit the theatres in July. Sonam Kapoor is now busy shooting her next movie Mausum in Scotland.

Sonam Kapoor’s next movie, Aisha, a romantic comedy is scheduled to release in August. On her 25^th birthday on June 9, 2010, Sonam Kapoor unveiled the first look of Aisha. The movie is jointly produced by A K Films Company and PVR Pictures.

In Aisha, Sonam Kapoor plays the female lead while the male lead is played by Abhay Deol. Aisha is inspired by Jane Austen’s classic novel, ‘Emma.’

Aisha is a young upper class Delhi girl who loves interfering into other’s business and Abhay Deol plays Arjun, a rich Delhi boy who does not like Sonam Kapoor’s ways and tries to get her out of the mess she creates.

The movie is directed by Rajshree Ojha and it stars stars Cyrus Sahukar and Ira Dubey among others. The movie has been extensively shot in Mumbai, Delhi and Rishikesh.

The movie is also important for the Kapoors because it is also the debut movie of Sonam Kapoor’s sister, Rhea Kapoor as producer.

Rhea Kapoor wrote a lot about the movie in the official Facebook page. Sonam has given the name “Aishaholics” to all the fans. There is also a Twitter page on Aisha.

The story of Road movie review resembles with that of the American Beat Generation of the 1950s who valued their freedom most. Who wanted go out and taste life. Road tells the story of one such man named Vishnu. He is a restless young man who want get away the daily hassles of life. His father has a hair oil business which is not doing well and he wants his son to take over his business but Vishnu has no interest. Then his ticket to freedom comes in the form of an old Chevy. He offers to drive the old Chevy across the desert to the sea. The Chevy has a collection of forty two movies and two projectors. On his way, Vishnu picks up a young runaway, a wandering old entertainer and a striking gypsy woman. The group then roams around the desert in search of water and a fair. They run into problems after being misled by a corrupt police and a waterlord. Stuck in the middle of desert they have only one choice, to show their movies. If the movies are good they would enjoy their freedom. In this unique journey Vishnu discovers love and joy of life.
