Robot audio launch will be attended by Bollywood heavyweights

On August 14, 2010, the audio launch of Robot, the Hindi version of Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Tamil movie, Endhiran will be launched. Top Bollywood actors including Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan will attend the audio launch ceremony.

Already, Endhiran has been released in Malaysia on July 31, 2010 which followed by the audio launch of the Telugu version in Hyderabad. Hansraj Saxena, CEO, Sun Pictures, confirmed the presence of Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan at the event. He said,"We are making all the arrangements to ensure it’s a memorable show. We have also invited Aamir Khan as well. Aishwarya will join us from there itself. Of course, Rajinikanth, Kalanidhi Maran, A.R. Rahman will also be flying in. The event is scheduled to take place at the Marriot in Mumbai on Saturday, August 14th."

Another big surprise is that Rajinikanth, the South Indian superstar will fly to Mumbai to attend the audio launch on August 14, 2010. This is also special to him because he is visiting Mumbai after fifteen years.

Rajini Khan this is very successful in South Indian cinema and enjoys a huge fan following, he is a very private person and always shies away from the media but this time, the actor made an exception.

It was director Shankar, who convinced him to attend the audio launch event. Many people were shocked at this last moment decision.

Endhiran director S. Shankar is very happy over completing the shoot and audio rights sales

After two long years, finally the shooting of Endhiran came to an end on July 7, 2010. Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan finished shooting the last song of the movie in a studio set up. The song was choreographed by Remo.

The shooting unit was very happy specially, the director, S. Shankar. In his blog, he posted “It was a very, very happy moment for everyone. I think this is the first film where I am doing the pumpkin-breaking pooja (poosanika udaikiradhu) with the lead stars (Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai) present on the occasion.”

Later, Kalanithi Maran, a media baron and producer of the movie, threw a big party for the entire unit.

The next day, there was more good news waiting for Shankar as the music composer, A R Rahman, handed him the master music copy of the movie. Shankar, in his blog post, highly praised the song. He said that the songs were amazing, rocking and sounded just as grand as the movie itself.

Shankar was very happy with A R Rahman’s work. He liked the first song and said that A R Rahman is truly an Oscar winner. He hoped that their combination lived up to the expectation of the viewers.

News reports said that after a fierce bidding, Think Music acquired the audio rights of Endhiran in exchange of Rs. 70 million. Sony music was the other major bidder. This is also the highest price ever paid for audio rights in the history of South Indian cinema and it is almost on par with music acquisitions in Bollywood.

Endhiran starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajinikanth will release in September 2010

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and South Indian superstar, Rajinikanth, finished the shooting of Endhiran on July 7, 2010 at Sun Studios. The movie is slated to release in theatres on September 3, 2010 during Ramadan and Vinayaka Chaturthi weekend.

Endhiran is a magnum opus movie in every aspect. Directed by ace Tamil director, S. Shankar, who specializes in directing big budget movies, Endhiran paired up Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajinikanth for the first time.

S. Shankar worked with both of them previously, he directed Rajinikanth in Sivaji: The Boss, which went on to become one of the highest grossing Tamil movies of all time. He also directed Aishwarya Rai Bacchan in Jeans in 1998 which went on to become another major hit movie.

Blue Hindi movie, which was released last year, had a production cost of Rs.1.1 billion. It is considered to be the most expensive Indian movie till date.

In 2008, when the production of Endhiran started, the cost of the movie was touted to be a Rs. 1 billion and then it was said to be Rs.1.2 billion. After Sun Pictures took over, the production cost shot up to Rs. 1.5 billion. The recent buzz is that the overall production cost is Rs.2 billion. If this figure is to be true then Endhiran is going to be the most expensive movie ever made in India and the most expensive Tamil movie till date.

Endhiran will be released in 2000 screens worldwide making it the Tamil movie with highest number of theatre releases around the world.

Aishwarya Rai finished shooting for Endhiran with Rajinikanth

So far, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had a bad start in 2010. Her movie, Raavan and Ravanan with her hubby Abhishek Bachchan tanked at the box office. There are still three movies slated to release this year. Already, the actress finished shooting Endhiran where she is paired up with Rajinikanth for the first time.

Her other two major releases in this year are- Action Replayy and Gujarish.

On the last day of shooting, Aishwarya Rai touch Rajinikanth’s feet seeking his blessing. The actress saw a father figure in Rajinikanth.

Endhiran is a Tamil science-fiction film starring Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles. The movie is directed by S Shankar who has hit movies like

Gentleman, Kadhalan, Jeans, Boys, Anniyan, and Sivaji to his credit.

With a production cost of Rs.2 billion, Endhiran, is going to be the most expensive movie in India till date replacing Blue Hindi movie, which was released during the Diwali of 2009.

Oscar winning Indian music composer, A R Rahman, composed music of Endhiran. South Indian music company, Think Music acquired the audio rights of Endhiran. News reports said that Think Music paid a whopping Rs.70 million for the audio rights. Sony Music was another music major who was interested to acquire the music rights of Endhiran

The album of Endhiran has six song out of which one has been sung by A R Rahman.
