MS Dhoni Sakshi Singh Rawat engagement: Marriage would take place in October

Indian Cricket team captain, Mahindra Singh Dhoni, had been engaged to his girlfriend Sakshi Singh Rawat. The engagement ceremony was held in Dehradun on July 3, 2010.

A family friend of MS Dhoni talked about the engagement. The ceremony was held at Hotel Bhagirath in Dehradun. Only family members and close friends attended the ceremony. Fellow cricketere Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra were present in the ceremony.

MS Dhoni and Sakshi Rawat were school friends in Ranchi and there fathers were colleagues in MECON. Then the Rawats moved to Dehradun after retirement. However, another news report said that Sakshi Singh Rawat is a twenty year old student at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) in Aurangabad. She recently completed her training at Taj Bengal’s front office.

The two met at Bipasha Basu’s house at the success party of Race Hindi movie. Sakshi was invited by John Abraham who is a common friend. It has also been reported that Dhoni cropped his hair for Sakshi likes short hair. She also attends Dhoni’s haircutting session.

The two were seen on her 21^st birthday on November 19, 2009. The even went on a rickshaw drive together in Aurangabad. Dhoni also gifted her an iPhone.

The marriage date has not been confirmed yet but it is speculated to be held in October 2010 after Dhoni returns from the Australian series.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was signed up by Chennai Super Kinds fro $1.5 million making him the most expensive player in the history of IPL during the first season. Dhoni is currently the captain of the Chennai Super Kings team.

Sakshi Singh Rawat is Engaged to Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Captain of Indian Cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, got engaged to his girlfriend Sakshi Singh Rawat on 3 July 2010 at a private ceremony arranged at hotel Bhagirath, located just 20km away from Dehradun. Dhoni is believed to have been dating Sakshi Singh Rawat, a 20-year-old (some say 21), for a long time.

Only the family members and close friends including cricketers Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra were present at the ceremony. Media personnel were not allowed to attend the ceremony.

Dhoni and Sakshi met each other at a party arranged in Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu’s home on the occasion of the success of Bipasha starrer Race in 2007. The two started dating shortly thereafter. Sakshi is also reportedly a close friend of Bipasha.

Well, Dhoni and Sakshi had been long time friends from their school days in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Rumors have it that the two had been in love even before their meeting at Bipasha’s home.

Their fathers were colleagues when they were working together for MECON in Ranchi. After the retirement of Sakshi’s father, her family moved to Dehradun and settled there.

However, there is contradictory information available in the media regarding the educational background of Sakshi Singh Rawat. According to some sources, Sakshi has already completed her graduation from Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. However, some other sources say, she is a 3^rd year student (some say 3^rd semester) at the same institute.

In the past, Dhoni was linked with a number of actresses including Asin and Lakshmi Rai. However, it seems those rumored relationships did not affect Dhoni’s relation with Sakshi Singh Rawat. Reports available in the media also suggest that Dhoni cut his long hair short only because Sakshi does not like long hair.

Dhoni is a very popular cricketer in India. Under his captaincy, India won the ICC World Twenty20 2007.

Can Indian Cricket Team remain the top position in 2010?

Indian cricket team is going to end the year 2009 with number one spot in Test cricket. It was done by Indian skipper MS Dhoni who led his team successfully. He is hopeful for his team’s achievement in the next year. He says that his team will keep on the leading position for long time. However, it should be really a though task for them because they are going to play only a few Test matches in 2010. May be they are going to play only four test matches next year. It seems that Dhoni is not disappointed about it. He said that he wants to play a minimum number of tests every year.

I think that Indian fans are upset about it. Fewer test matches can be the main reason for India’s downfall from top position. Even India may slip down early from the top position. The existence of Test cricket is under threat. Now-a-days, cricket players do not like to play the longest version of cricket game. The interest of test cricket is decreasing day by day. Let us see how long it can exist.
