Piyush Mishra’s debut movie, Lahore already won several awards including Best Feature Film Jury’s Award at the 42nd World Festival held at Houston. Lahore also won award in the most aspiring filmmaker category at International Filmmaker Festival held in UK. It also won best actor awards at Salento International Film Festival in Italy; Best actor award at the Tenerife International Film Festival in UK; and six nominations including Best Picture and Best Director at Asian Fest of First Film in Singapore.
Lahore is an authentic sports movie based on the sports of kick boxing. The movie is produced by Sai Om Films Pvt. Ltd and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The movie stars some of the top actors in Bollywood such as Farouque Shaikh, Nafisa Ali, late Nirmal Pandey, Sushant Signh, Sabyasachi Chakravarthy, Ashish Vidyarthi, Kelly Dorji, Mukesh Rishi, Jeeva and Shraddha Nigam. The movie also stars two new actors Aanaahad and Shraddha. Lahore is the first movie of director Sanjay Puransingh Chauhan. He, along with Piyush Mishra, also wrote the script of the movie. The movie was shot in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Lonavala, Malaysia and at Lahore, Pakistan. Rob Miller who worked in another hit Indian movie on sports, Chak De! India in 2007, also worked as a consultant for this movie. Lahore tells the story of the spirit of the sportsmanship and honor of sports. It is going to hit the theatres on March 19, 2010. Now, the big question that remains is will it be a successful movie? Let’s wait and see.
