Arsenal: Arsene Wenger must find a Top Goalkeeper Soon

With a number of goalkeepers coming to media headlines as Arsenal targets in the transfer market this summer, it is clear that the days of Manuel Almunia in the London club are going to be numbered. Arsene Wenger is trying his best to find a good goalkeeper but until now, the efforts have not brought their desired result.

Most probably, the decision makers in the board should come up with some healthy amount of cash to fill this position. They should really spend some money to find one or two good keepers.

Before Almunia, there was Jens Lehmann who was the number one goalkeeper. Lehmann was good and he was surely one of the best in Europe. Before Lehmann, it was David Seaman who played for the club for a long time and he was the best in Premier League during his golden years. Wenger needs to find someone like Seaman.

In the last few weeks, all the attention was more or less on the possibility of Cesc Fabregas leaving the club and joining Barcelona. Now, it is time to focus on finding a good goalkeeper.

 Arsenal has already failed to get Fulham's Mark Schwarzer. Now, most probably, they are going to try to get Samir Handanovic of Udinese. Samir Handanovic can become an exciting prospect for the club as he is young but with a lot of match experience for in club level and international level. Samir also played in World Cup 2010 and his performance caught the attention of some of the top clubs in Europe.

The new EPL season will start after a few weeks. So, time is running out for Wenger to find a top class goalkeeper. This summer, his hands are not tied like past about money. He can spend a few million of pounds for a top class keeper.
