LG announced its Android based tablet PC will be released before Christmas

South Korean electronics giant, LG, announced that it is working on an Android based tablet PC which is going to be released in the fourth quarter of 2010.

The device would provide superior performance and it would be lighter and thinner compared to other tablet PCs that are available in the market at present.

Along with this news, the company unveiled two new smartphones for the South Korean market- the LG Optimus and LG Optimus One. Both the phones run on Android OS.

After the launch of Apple iPad, several manufacturers either unveiled or announced to release their own table.

After Apple iPad, Dell quickly released it Slate tablet PC. Samsung also released its Tab Android tablet.

The biggest advantage of Google Android OS is that it is available for free and there are many third party applications based on the Android OS.

LG hopes to release its Android based tablet PC before Christmas.

In fact, LG has major plans this year. They are planning for an aggressive expansion of their mobile phone market by bringing out more Android based devices. The company is going to launch 20 new devices in the market this year. Out of these there will be ten new smartphones.
