Manchester United Lining up £30m Bid for Wesley Sneijder

Manchester United is reportedly planning a £30 million bid for Inter Milan’s Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder who has already set the stage fire in the World Cup 2010 following his excellent performances.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson recently revealed that he would make one quality signing this summer using a big part of £80 million that the club achieved through the selling of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid last summer. Recently, it was also reported that Ferguson had been planning to offload Dimitar Berbatov and Anderson to sign Karim Benzema from Real Madrid.

Wesley Sneijder was instrumental behind Inter Milan’s unprecedented Treble success last season including the Serie A and Champion League. The 26-year-old attacking midfielder was offloaded by Real Madrid last summer to bankroll the big money signings like Ronaldo, Kaka, Xabi Alonso and Benzema.

Since his £20 million move to Inter Milan, the Dutch international has become an influential man in Inter midfield. He has continued his excellent form in the World Cup too as he already scored 4 goals so far in the tournament. In fact, he is currently in the race of winning both the Golden Ball and Golden Boot awards of the tournament. Sneijder represented Netherlands in 66 international matches and scored 18 goals besides setting up many for others.

There is no doubt, the arrival of Sneijder would be a big relief for Ferguson who is currently sweating to find a like-for-like replacement for his aging midfield duo Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.
