Deepika Padukone is Krrish 2 Heroine

Deepika Padukone would be romancing with Hrithik Roshan in Krrish 2. From the beginning, Rakesh Roshan had been very much interested to rope in Deepika Padukone for his movies.

It is said that Deepika Padukone was first approached to play the female lead in Kites Hindi movie but Deepika Padukone opted out for she was not comfortable in doing intimate scenes in front of the camera. Then Barbara Mori was paired up with Hrithik Roshan and the rest is known to you all. The rejection had been a blessing in disguise for Deepika Padukone because Kites Hindi movie did miserably at the box office.

Anyway, the Roshan’s did not take Kites Hindi movie’s failure very well. Rakesh Roshan is again helming the role of director. The Father-son duo gave three hit movies- Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, Koi... Mil Gaya, and Krrish.

After directing Krrish, Rakesh Roshan took a break and went into movie production. He was the co-producer of Kites Hindi movie but after Kites Hindi movie’s failure, Rakesh Roshan has decided to bring out a sequel of the 2006 hit movie, Krrish and this time Deepika Padukone is replacing Priyanka Chopra as the female lead. It is said that Deepika Padukone became very happy to become part of Krrish 2. She instantly accepted the offer.

News is out that Deepika Padukone has a new man in her life and it is none other than Neil Nitin Mukesh. Deepika Padukone and Neil Nitin Mukesh worked in Lafangey Parindey. The movie will hit the theatres on August 20, 2010.

Deepika Padukone got her test of skydiving in Mauritius

Deepika Padukone is not just typical Bollywood beauty with log legs. She is bold and adventurous always trying new things. Recently, the actress did skydiving in Mauritius.

Daughter of sportsman, Deepika, was also involved in sports. She even performed her own stunts in Chandni Chawk To China. The actress has her deep sea diving certificate. Now, she wanted to have her skydiving certificate.

Deepika Padukone was shooting her upcoming movie, Break Ke Baad with Imran Khan. Producer Kunal Kohli told her to take her skydiving lessons after the shooting was over. On June 17, 2010, the shooting was completed and Deepika Padukone stayed in Mauritius.

The next day, she went out for skydiving but could not do so due to bad weather. Finally, on June 23^rd, the big day, she got her first experience of skydiving. There was also heavy rain that day but the soon the sky cleared up and Deepika Padukone

took the opportunity.

Deepika Padukone: A Freedom Fighter in Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey

Bollywood actress, Deepika Padukone, would be seen in a new look in Ashutosh Gowariker’s next film Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey. The actress plays the role of Kalpana Datta, a Bengali freedom fighter, who fights against the British for the independence of India.

Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey is based on a book titled ‘Do and Die: The Chittagong Uprising 1930- 34’ by Manini Chatterjee. Set in Chittagong, a port city of the current-day Bangladesh, the movie also stars Abhishek Bachchan opposite Deepika Padukone. Abhishek Bachchan will play the role of Surya Sen.

Surya Sen is one of the most prominent figures in the history of anti-British movement in India. Kalpana Dutta was one of the assistants of Surya Sen in the armed resistance. She took part in the famous “Chittagong Armory Raid” on April 18, 1930.

To portray the role of a Bengali woman, Deepika Padukone had to wear traditional sari. Initially, the actress faced problems doing her action sequences wearing saris. Noted designer, Neeta Lulla, designed the dress to give Deepika a Bengali look.

Karthik Calling Karthik review: Poor climax ruined the movie

Karthik Calling Karthik is a romantic thriller. Karthik Narayan played by Farhan Akhtar is a top student from IIM and works in a construction company in Mumbai but his boss treats him like a dirt. Karthik loves his colleague Shonali Mukherjee and wrote 1,317 emails but never forwarded them once. Then one night Karthik gets a call from Karthik (it could be another person or the same person). The caller then tells that he would take over the life of the loser Karthik. Over the next few scenes, we see Karthik in a different avatar. Once a loser is now a confident man and eventually wins a date with her dream girl. However, the phone calls gradually turns Karthik’s world upside down and reveals the truth.

KCK is Farhan Akhtar’s second attempt as an actor and he does play his role very well. Farhan plays three different types of role under one character but plays it very well. Deepika Padukone looked beautiful. She is now more matured as an actress. The chemistry between Deepika and Farhan Akhtar was another UPS for the movie.

However, Vijay Lalwani, the writer and director of the movie failed to keep up the expectation. The first half of the movie looks convincing but when the movie goes to the second half and shifts to Kerala the movie starts to drag and the climax looked very unconvincing. Ram Kapoor did very well. Shefali Chhaya also played his role well. Finally, Karthik Calling Karthik is an average movie.
