Roger Federer needs to Fight back in US Open Tennis 2010

US Open Tennis 2010 will start on 30 August 2010 and it is a great opportunity for Roger Federer to make a strong comeback and silence his critics. He has a very good opportunity to show that it is really too early to write him off. After all, it is an event that he has enjoyed huge success in the last 6 years.
In the final match of US Open 2009, Federer lost to Juan Martín del Potro by 3–6, 7–6(5), 4–6, 7–6(4), 6–2. It was a very hard fought match and continued for more than 4 hours. Before that, Federer won the event for 5 consecutive years- (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008). So, it is an event that he has proven track record of success.
The recent bad performance at Wimbledon has perhaps made the player very unhappy. It has disappointed his fans a lot too. Federer has been dominating the Tennis World for more than 6 years. Now, his ranking is 3 and he will want to change this as soon as he can.
Rafael Nadal is the number one ranked player at the moment and he will surely want to take advantage from the poor form of Federer. However, it will not be that easy because Nadal’s past record at US Open Tennis is not impressive at all. In fact, he is yet to taste championship at US open. The best he could manage was reaching semifinals in 2008 and 2009.
Thus, if Federer is out of form at the moment, Nadal is also out of any good record at US open. This should give Federer some confidence.
It is really too early to write Federer off and it will not be shocking at all if he can make a strong comeback by winning the title of US Open 2010.
