Swami Nithyananda gets out of jail but can not preach only teach yoga

The famous godman of Tamil Nadu, Swami Nithyananda, finally released on bail after spending 53 days in jail on rape and other criminal charges.

The Karnataka High Court granted bail to Nithyananda on June 11, 2010. The court also ordered the Swami not to preach but he could teach yoga.

After reaching ashram from jail, Nithyananda performed Pooja at the Anandeshwari temple.

The godman will perform “Pancha Tapasya” at his Bidadi Ashram to purify himself. The meditation will start from June 13, 2010. Everyday it will start from 6 a.m. in the morning and continue till 8 p.m.

A spokesperson of the ashram said, “Nithyananda will undertake 'pancha tapasya' in which he will sit and pray with the fire set around him for about three feet height,…. This is for cleansing the negativity that has gripped him and for world peace,”

Upon reaching the ashram, Nithyananda received cordial welcome from his devotees.

In March 2010, Sun TV broadcasted a sextape where Nithyananda was shown in a compromising position with a Tamil actress. On April 21, 2010, the godman was arrested from Himachal Pradesh.

Though the Central Forensics Science Laboratory (CFSL) based in Hyderabad declared that the sex video involving Tamil actress Ranjitha as authentic, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which was investigating Nithyananda’s case, failed to produce any material related to the charges brought against him.

No witness came forward to testify against the godman. The CBI told the court that it would not further interrogate Nithyananda.

Swamy Nithyananda arrested in Himachal Pradesh

Finally, the notorious Swami of Tamil Nadu has been arrested by the police. News reports came out that Swami Nithyananda had been arrested on April 21, 2010. Bangalore police arrested Nithyananda at Solan district in Himachal Pradesh. Karnataka State CID in co-operation of Himachal Pradesh police, took Swamy Nithyananda into custody this afternoon. Along with Sri Nithyananda Swamiji, Sri Nithya Bhaktananda and Gopal Seelam Reddy were arrested by the police. The two people- Sri Nithya Bhaktananda and Gopal Seelam Reddy, are also wanted in two cases filed at Bidadi Police Station. They were produced before the local magistracte and after securing body warrant, they will be brought to Bangalore. The CID team also conducted a search of the Ashram of Nithyananda Swamiji at Bidadi on April 20, 2010 and got hold of some important documents. NDTV reports:

Cases of rape, criminal intimidation and cheating among others have since been filed against the Godman based on various complaints. His ashram had been searched and hard disks seized were being examined, the police said. On allegations of rape against the swami, they appealed to victims to come out and give evidence.

The swami's ashram has maintained that there is a "conspiracy" to malign Nityananda's reputation and have said that the video footage telecast by TV channels was morphed.

For more than a month, Nithyananda was staying in this place. Four teams of Bangalore police conducted the arrest. He had been arrested under a non-bailable arrest warrant. The Swami will be produced at the olan court or the Simla court.

In early March, a sextape of Nithyananda with a woman named Ranjitha was broadcasted by Sun TV Network. Immediately, after this broadcast, Nithyananda’s ashram and institution were ransacked by people. Prior to this arrest, Swamy Nithyananda or Paramahamsa Nithyananda was very popular and had thousands of followers in India and abroad.

On March 22, 2010, a city advocate named R. Karthikeyan requested Madras high court to seek CBI probe to look into the complaints filed against Tamil godman Nithyananda Swami. Mr. Karthikeyan said that Nithyananda’s heinous act hurt his religious sentiments. He claimed that Nithyananda has 4.5 million devotees in seventeen countries around the world. Mr. Karthikeyan also said that some cases had already by filed against Nithyananda and his accomplices in Karnataka. He pled to the court that all the complaints be handed over to CBI for further investigation.

After hearing the petition, justice R Reghupathi issued a notice to the Tamil Nadu government. He also posted for further hearing on the matter on March 24, 2010.

In Swami Paramhansa Nityanand scandal, the name of a Tamil actress Ranjeeta came up. However, in the video clip, the face of the women was distorted. After the news, Tamil actress Ranjeeta became an overnight star. Many people started to search about Tamil actress Ranjeeta over the Internet. People were searching for her pictures and wallpapers. Tamil actress Ranjeeta acted in movies in the beginning of the 90s. She appeared in many successful movies. Later, she got married and then went on to work in TV serials.

Regarding this scandal, inmates of Swami Paramhansa Nityanand’s Dhyanapeetam Ashram did not say anything. On March 8, 2010, Swami Nitya Sacchidananda, Swami Nitya Jnanananda and Swami Nitya Pranananda said that they could not confirm the matter. Regarding Tamil actress Ranjeeta, Swami Sacchidananda said that she was a devotee and she visited the ashram and did a course seven months ago. He did not say anything more.

The inmates of Swami Paramhansa Nityanand’s Dhyanapeetam Ashram said that the entire scandal was a shameless act of a group of people who want to destroy Swami Paramhansa Nityanand’s image. The inmates said that they had received information that some blogs got their hands on the video clip two weeks ago and hours before the telecast, CDs had been distributed among senior police officers and politicians.

Nithya Dharmananda alias Lenin, who claimed to have recorded the video by placing a camera in the air purifier, worked as the driver of Swami Paramhansa Nityanand. Swami Sacchidananda said that he alone could not have done such a work.

Swami Paramhansa Nityanand asked his supporters to stay calm

On March 7, 2010, Swami Paramhansa Nityanand published a VCD which was distributed by his lawyer to the media. Nityanand said that he had not committed any crime. In the five minute VCD, Swami Paramhansa Nityanand appeared wearing an ochre robe and turban. He started his speech with an incantation and said that “calumnies and rumors” were being spread against him. Swami Paramhansa Nityanand said that he had been receiving many emails and phone calls and letters from devotees and friends expressing their support and affection. Swami Paramhansa Nityanand said that he and his associates were looking into the matter and trying to find out the actual facts. Swami Paramhansa Nityanand appealed to his devotees to stay calm and patient and said that he would soon come out with explanation and all the answers. Swami Paramhansa Nityanand requested his supporters not to reach any conclusion hastily. Swami Paramhansa Nityanand gave his speech in Tamil but no where he talked about the sex VCD.

One of the employees of famous spiritual guru, Swami Nithyananda Paramahamsa, video-taped his employer’s exciting sex sessions on the video tape is now asking for police protection. Forty five year old, Nithya Dharmananda alias Lenin admitted to have leaked out the sex-tapes. He even claimed that he has more DVDs containing more scandals of Guruji. Lenin who is currently staying in a friend’s house is receiving death threats from the disciples of Guruji.

On March 5, 2010, Lenin surrendered to police and asked for police protection. He even submitted the DVDs. Police commissioner, T Rajendran told reporters that he had directed C Sridhar, deputy commissioner of Central Crime Branch (CCB) to look into Lenin’s petition and provide him necessary protection.
