I Hate Luv Storys Box Office Report: Much Better than Expected in the Opening Weekend

It looks like after failure of Kidnap and Luck, Imran Khan’s luck finally changed with I Hate Luv Storys. The Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer did very well at the opening weekend by registering a collection of Rs.215 million.

Jointly produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Dharma Productions, the movie paired up Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor for the first time. On July 2, 2010, the first day, the movie collected Rs.65 million.

Jayendra Banerji, Vice President, Satyam Cineplexes said, “We have got a good amount with almost 85 percent occupancy during the weekend. People are liking the movie especially the younger generation. It has good cinematography and a contemporary story. We hope it does well during weekdays and has a second weekend run."

Amit Awasthi, Senior Manager, Programming and Operations, Spice Cinemas said that IHLS observed close to 85% occupancy and collected Rs.2.3 million over the weekend with 26 shows per day. He further said that Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor’s onscreen chemistry have been appreciated by the audience.

PVR Cinemas reported over 70% occupancy in the weekend and running 10 shows per day. It hopes that IHLS would run well in the second week. Young generation liked the movie very much.

I Hate Luv Storys is directed by debutant director Punit Malhotra. The movie tells the story of Jay (Imran Khan), who does not believe in love stories and a cynic, and Simran (Sonam Kapoor) who is very much romantic at heart. The movie shows how these two opposing characters unknowingly come close to each other and change each other forever.

Regarding the success of IHLS, Imran Khan said, "Well, all I can say is that those who feel that a couple of flops can impact an actor in a big way obviously don't have much understanding about the business,……I have had two films that have not done well but then this is nothing in one's career. Aaj meri picture hit hai, kal ek flop hogi aur uske baad phir ek hit hogi. I know that in my life there would be 100 hits and 200 flops."

He also said that he wants his audience to be happy. For him it is very important that someone buys a ticket looking at his name and they came out from the hall disappointed then they have the right to say he cheated on them. Imran Khan wants to satisfy his audience. Now, he can rightfully say that his audience is satisfied.

I Hate Luv Storys mobile phone game launched by Imran Khan

Actor Imran Khan is now busy promoting his upcoming movie, I Hate Luv Storys. Recently, the actor attended the launching ceremony of I Hate Luv Storys mobile phone game.

Talking about the game, Imran Khan said that the game has four stages and each stage is related to the movie. Imran Khan admitted that he himself enjoy playing games a lot. He owns an X-Box console and he played the entire series of Prince of Persia. For this reason, the idea of launching a game based on his movie appealed to him very much.

Though Imran Khan is only three movies old, he is very much popular among females. Recently, the actor was in Dubai promoting his movie and at that time a crazy female fan of his tried to get rich of him but she could not. She just held on to his hand and would not let it go. Imran’s security guards tried to take her away and she got angry and bit Imran’s hand.

Now the question is, does Avantika Malik, the would be Mrs. Khan feel unsecured about all these? The answer is No. About the incident, Imran Khan said,

"I'm sure that girl didn't want to hurt me. It was just that she wanted to kiss my hand but since she started pulling me towards the crowd and the security guys were pulling me the other way, it resulted in her biting me,……Avantika had no problem with that incident because she doesn't have problems with the female attention I get. In fact, she feels that the more female fans I have, the more successful I am,"

The game is developed by UTV Indiagames. It has levels like-Theatre Blues, Love cocktail, Dance of Envy and Race for Love.

I Hate Luv Sotrys will release in theatres on July 2, 2010. The movie stars Imran Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Sameer Dattani, Samir Soni, and Aamir Ali. The movie is directed by Punit Malhotra.

Salman Khan wants to watch Imran Khan’s I Hate Luv Storys

Imran Khan’s next flick, I Hate Luv Storys, is going to hit the theatres in July and guess who would like to see the movie, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.

In his Twitter Salman Khan wrote, “Want to see I Hate Luv Storys. Imraan, Shona dude. Seeing promos and loving it. All the best, dude. Think this is a big one, am happy for you, Shona.”

Salman Khan affectionately addresses Imran Khan as “Shona.”

After getting the message, Imran Khan was “truly overwhelmed” and thanked Salman Khan a million times. He said, “Thank you so much! Aap ka support hai toh I don’t think we need anything else. Bhai bole hit hai, to hit hona hi hai boss! (If brother says it’s a hit, then it has to be a hit).”

After Jaane Tu……Ya Jaane Na, the next two movies of Imran Khan did not do so well at the box office. Hence, I Hate Luv Storys is an important movie for Imran Khan’s career. I Hate Luv Storys is a romantic comedy which brings together Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor for the first time.

In IHLS, Imran Khan plays ‘Jay’ who does not believe in love stories but he works as an assistant director under Veer, who is famous for making beautiful romantic movies. Things take a twist when Imran Khan comes to work under ‘Simran,’ the new production designer.

Imran Khan’s I Hate Luv Stories first look unveiled

Imran Khan, the Bollywood heartthrob, gave his fans a peek of his upcoming movie on his twitter account. The actor unveiled the first look of I Hate Luv Stories on his Twitter account.

I Hate Luv Stories is made by Dharma Productions and for the first time, Imran Khan is paired up with Sonam Kapoor. Imran Khan plays Jay, who is an assistant director. He is cynic who does not believe in Love. On the contrary, Sonam Kapoor, plays a girl who believes in love stories.

Imran Khan said that in the movie, his character likes to flirt with character but he does not sleep with them. In I Hate Luv Stories, fans of Imran Khan will see him go shirtless for the first time.

Karan Johar instructed Imran Khan not to make his character look sleazy. He has to portray that he is a sweet guy who is hopeless in love.

Avantika Malik: Suddenly Famous for Engagement with Imran Khan

I had no idea who Avantika Malik was until today, I found her in many blogs and websites related to Bollywood. She was the girl friend of Bollywood young hero Imran Khan and now she is engaged with him and that means that Avantika Malik is the would be wife of this hero. This is perhaps bad news to many young girls to whom he is the dream man. What I understand is that even no formal engagement ceremony took place yet and it wont take place this year.
